What defines the road to success?

Is it the bumps and potholes overcome along the way, or the milestones that mark every hard-earned achievement?  Was it moving into a new facility or a breakout design that took the company to another sales level?  The passing of the torch to a new generation of leadership?  These are all good answers.

If you ask each team member of Douglas Machines Corp., the responses will most likely vary.  Perspective is everything, yet it’s the underlying emotion which is the unifying thread that binds us together as a company and makes us strong.

Respect.  Passion.  Integrity.  Dedication.  Professionalism.  Enthusiasm.  Intensity.

This is the foundation that shines through as we celebrate 40 years of excellence.  Being in business for 40 years would not have been possible without the amazing people within our organization.  We say “Thank You” to all of our customers and co-workers, both past and present.  We are incredibly thankful for the hard work and dedication of our employees and are so appreciative to be able to work with each of them every day. This milestone would not be possible without them.  Your efforts and loyalty are greatly valued.

"Remember to celebrate milestones as you prepare for the road ahead." ~ Nelson Mandela

Douglas Machines Corp. started humbly with the first machine built in the Dunedin, Florida garage of the founder’s sister in 1979. What is amazing about that fact is that only 44% of businesses survive the first 5 years.*

Over the years, we have significantly expanded our products to include so much more than could have been imagined when our founder, Doug Miller launched the business from that tiny garage.  Who would have predicted that one person and an idea would survive to celebrate this business milestone? Some would credit our survival to hard work. We believe that our success can be attributed to a thorough commitment to our core values: our promise to our employees and their families, and our pledge to you, our customers.

Now, in our 40th year, a new president takes the helm and we envision a future filled with potential.  It’s all about innovation, acceleration and providing unique solutions for our customers.  The road ahead will have its challenges and difficulties, but our team maintains there are no rewards without risks.

"Celebrate what you’ve accomplished but raise the bar a little higher each time you succeed." ~ Mia Hamm

Douglas Machines Corp. won’t be standing still, looking in the rear-view mirror.  That’s not our style.  Building upon our industry leadership and expertise requires further dedication, commitment to customers, innovation, and execution of top priorities.

People inspire us.  Relationships motivate us.  Progress propels us.

That won’t change, but our business will continue to evolve in meeting customer needs at the next level.  As the story of our company unfolds, we honor our beginnings and the people who have made Douglas what it is today.

The Douglas legacy is built one customer and piece of equipment at a time.  Our customers are more than just customers, they are family. The relationships our company has built and will continue to build, will always be our number one motivator for success.

We are proud of the progress we’ve made and thrilled to see what the future holds for Douglas Machines Corp.  Here’s to making an even bigger difference over the next 40 years.
